    The Department of Tourism and Travel Management (TTM) of Bajali College in collaboration with Manas Ever Welfare Society (MEWS) and Birina tourist lodge, a unit of Astha Natures Tours and Travels celebrated the world tourism day on 27th September 2016 with a day-long programme simultaneously in Bajali College and at Bansbari near Manas National Park. The programme began with a cleanliness drive at Bajali college premises under Saccha Bharat Abhiyan in the morning. The World Tourism day programme at Bansbari started with a drawing competition among students of Seuj Jatiya Vidyalaya of Bansbari where a good number of students participated. A talk on this year`s world tourism day theme, ‘Tourism for all-Promoting Universal accessibility’ was delivered by Mukul Patgiri, a differently able assistant professor of the Department of History, Bajali College. In his talk, Sri Patgiri spoke of the intense desire of travel in him and narrated how he has been traveling in spite of his physical weakness. In this connection, he stressed upon the need of ensuring efficient transportation and public services and creating a conducive environment for physically challenged people. The talk was followed by an interactive meet with local tourism service providers. Mr. Arindam Talukdar, the coordinator of TTM Department and Chairperson of the proceedings, explained the purpose of the celebration of World Tourism day and also stressed on the need of involving local communities of tourism destinations in such endeavor. He informed how the department of TTM, Bajali College has been persistently trying in this regard and highlighted such capacity building initiatives of the department for empowering local youth to serve in the tourism sector. Earlier Mr Bubul Nath and Kishak Pathak of MEWS and Birina Tourist Lodge welcomed all and thanked the organizers for collaborating with their organizations in celebrating this year’s World Tourism day in the periphery of Manas National Park. The programme ended with a prize distribution ceremony anchored by Rima Kalita, lecturer of Bajali College.

  • A Financial Literacy Camp is going to be held on 23rd Sept. 2016

    The Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Pathsala Branch in collaboration with the Department of Economics is going to organise a financial literacy camp on 23rd of September, 2016. The entire event is going to be sponsored by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The Camp is going to focus on three aspects.

    1. Educational Loans & other loans available mainly for students.
    2. Various schemes available for students.
    3. Banking Products for students.

    Interested students from each departments are requested to participate in the Camp.

  • One day seminar on Globalisation, State & Society was held on 21st Sept. 2016

    The department of Political Science had organised a one-day seminar on Globalisation, State and Society in the newly constructed Seminar Room. Retd. Prof. Munindra Narayan Goswami from BH college and Ratul Chandra Kalita,HoD Political Science, Tihu college were the resource person in the event. They delivered lectures on impact of Globalistaion on State and Society. More than 140 students attended the seminar. Five papers were also presented by the students of the department. It was a very successful seminar.

  • Bajali College Press has come into action

    It has been a great day for the entire Bajali College fraternity because the college has now its own press. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU). It is expected that the press will be good source of income to the college.

    In 1994, the UN General Assembly proclaimed 16 September the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, commemorating the date of the signing, in 1987, of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (resolution 49/114). In connection with that an one day workshop was held at newly constructed conference hall entitled “OZONE and CLIMATE: RESTORED BY A WORLD UNITED organised by Department of Chemistry in collaboration with IQAC Bajali College.     This was conducted by noted Career Counsellor of Assam Mr. Ranjan Baruah. The welcome address was given by Principal Dr. Manoj Kr. Mahanta.  Coordinator IQAC Mr. Arindam Talukdar was also present in the workshop. Mr. Baruah outlined the various opportunities and scopes existing both in Govt n private jobs, the life skills required to be an entrepreneur and also how to start business to be self employed right from zero. Students from different streams specially from 5th semester participated in the workshop. It was a very interactive workshop where the students tookpart with much enthusiasm  and the whole program was anchored by Convenor of Placement Assistance Cell Mrs. Ritu Barua.
